Goodbye, Sister Raitt!

What a whirlwind these past few days!  Carly's farewell on Aug 12th was a rousing success.  There was a homecoming during the same sacrament meeting so our little ward church was packed!  They even had to open up the back for overflow into the cultural hall.  The look on the face of the youth speaker was priceless!  Her talk was strong, heart-felt and delivered with sincere conviction.  Once she had that behind her, she visibly relaxed and was excited to go.

She met with the Stake President late Tuesday night and received an amazing blessing.  Today, we dropped her off at exactly 1:25 p.m.  With Carly, of course, there is always more laughter than tears.  It is a very unusual emotional experience to be so excited for your daughter in her upcoming, life-changing journey, yet know you will be missing her so very much in the next eighteen months.  She is going to be an amazing missionary!

I will update just as soon as we hear from her!
